Stainless Steel Wire

Stainless steel wire is the gold standard in the construction of lures and spinning baits (spinners).
For a high-quality through-wire framework, I bond it with Devcon 2 Ton epoxy resin. When I need to save time, I use Bison Epoxy 5 min.
Unlike ordinary galvanized wire, dental-grade stainless steel wire never rusts.
This type of steel is “Hard Drawn,” meaning it retains the shape of the eyelets even after violent strikes or prolonged fights with large fish.
It is the ideal material not only for the internal framework of minnows or crankbaits but also for creating the shaft of spinners.
Although very strong, it allows for precise bending with pliers without becoming brittle at torsion points.
The flawless finish reduces friction and allows for free rotation of the blades on spinners.
In smaller diameters, it can be used to create stiff rigs for pike fishing. This wire is superior to welding wire (TIG wire) because it does not soften after bending and maintains its structural tension.

It does not react chemically with resins or paints, avoiding those yellow oxidation spots that can appear over time under the epoxy layer.
