Bejan Topcoat Varnish 1L

Bejan Topcoat Varnish 1L is a single-component cellulose varnish with an extremely high gloss, developed in Romania and strictly optimized for the rigorous demands of lure building. I have tested several varnishes, but I stopped at this one. For me, it is the ideal topcoat solution for my chub, perch, or trout lures. I also rely on it when it comes to asp minnows. However, when it comes to lures designed for pike or zander, I choose Devcon epoxy resin.

Why Bejan Topcoat Varnish is a good choice for your lures:

• 100% Safe for Acrylic Paints: One of the greatest advantages of this formula is that it does NOT attack or dissolve acrylic colors. Fine details made with the airbrush (including premium Createx paints) remain intact and perfectly protected after the paint has dried completely.

• Auto-Leveling Properties: The special formula levels out perfectly on the lure body, making it ideal for fast and clean application via dipping.

• Ultra-Fast Drying: You save time in the workshop. Lures can be handled just one hour after applying the first coat (at 20°C). Complete drying (100%) takes about 4-5 days.

• Impact Protection: Applying 3-4 coats provides a hard but not brittle topcoat. Your lures will successfully withstand mechanical shocks caused by river rocks.

• UV Stability: Protects the paint colors and special effects against degradation caused by solar rays, maintaining the lure’s “new” look for a long time.

• Multi-Surface Compatibility: Adheres perfectly and provides a glassy finish on wood, resin, plastic, or polyurethane foam substrates.

Application and Thinning Recommendations:

• Optimal Working Temperature: Between 15°C and 35°C. Personally, I have applied it at lower temperatures as well, without any issues.

• Spray Application (Airbrush/Gun): Requires a 30%–50% dilution (depending on the nozzle size used) using exclusively the specially dedicated thinner, which you can also find on this website.

• Maintenance: Varnish Thinner helps restore the initial fluidity if the lacquer begins to thicken over time. To slow down this natural process, keep the container tightly sealed immediately after use.
